The hotel is owned and personally run by John and Julia Cartwright and their family. Great emphasis is placed on the food with Welsh lamb and seafood a speciality. On fine days, Welsh cream teas and bar lunches are served on the balcony overlooking the estuary. Our aim is to provide an informal atmosphere, coupled with good food and wine, so that you may rejoin the hurly burly of life refreshed. The cellar bar is ideal for families with children's menu, no smoking, and seating outside overlooking the estuary. Energetic guests can enjoy the use of the hotel's mountain bikes or fish over 12 miles of river and lake for salmon and trout. Clay pigeon shooting and power trekking make an exciting day out or perhaps a visit to a gold mine, castle or one of the many little railways in the area. George III Hotel has been awarded the National Accessible Accommodation Standard Category 3 and is considered to be suitable for someone with limited mobility but able to walk a few paces and up to a maximum of 3 steps.
