  • Silver Award for Accessibility in South West Tourism's Awards of Excellence

Four specifically designed rooms, that are accessible to all, have been built in the pretty walled garden, with all the facilities available for those less able.
These include ramps to and from the hotel, designated parking and wheelchair access to hotel, restaurant, bar and toilets.
Two of these rooms are interconnecting, therefore suitable for carers or families.
The bathrooms in these rooms were specially designed by Pressilt, a Danish company to the very highest standards.
These shower-only bathrooms have moveable & adjustable fixtures and a "wet" floor.
The gradient from the car park to the accessible rooms is slightly greater than 1:12. Assistance can be provided if required.

Ted and Beverly Clayton and Allison Hageman will welcome you to their sixteenth century Elizabethan Manor House Hotel situated in the beautiful village of Corfe Castle in the Isle of Purbeck. The Manor is one of the earliest in Corfe and without doubt, the finest. Built in 1590 in the shape of an ‘E’ to honour Queen Elizabeth I, it has in more recent times been sympathetically converted into a 21 bedroom hotel. The individual character rooms all have private bathroom, television, telephone, tea/coffee making facilities and Molton Brown courtesy products. Many rooms have views of the Castle and others look towards the Steam Railway and Purbeck Hills.

The ‘Dacombe’ rooms, with their own terrace and seating area, are situated within the beautiful walled gardens and are ‘accessible to all’, accommodating guests who are less able-bodied. These rooms are equipped with walk-in showers, electrically adjustable washbasins, and fixtures and fittings all designed by the prestigious Danish company, Pressilit. Much thought and consideration has been put into the design of these rooms, so much so, that the hotel has been awarded ‘Small Hotel of the Year 2004/5’ by South West Tourism. The DDA official rating for the hotel is M3, Independent and Level 1, Hearing.

Proud of the commendations received for its traditional English cuisine (2 AA Rosettes), the restaurant also boasts an excellent wine list. Rooms are available for private parties, conferences, Civil Weddings and receptions. Personally run by the owners, Mortons House has a dedicated team of staff that have your best interests at heart – “Our mission here is for you to enjoy this lovely hotel, the award winning restaurant and the beautiful surroundings”.

The location of the hotel provides the perfect centre from which to enjoy this beautiful corner of England, taking in the sights of the Jurassic coastline, Swanage and its famous Steam Railway and the beautiful beaches at Studland.
