Situated on the edge of the Somerset Levels, this barn conversion is full of olde worlde charm and enjoys lovely views of the Mendip Hills. Two upstairs bedrooms are pleasantly furnished with comfort in mind and have en suite facilities (efficient power showers, basin and toilet). Colour television and hairdryers are provided, and electric blankets in winter. Bed linen and towels are provided at no extra cost, however we do request that you bring your own beach towels.

A large cosy lounge with inglenook fireplace and log burner easily seats 6 people. A colour television and video recorder are installed for your own use. The dining room is furnished in an old fashioned Jacobean Oak style. The kitchen is both attractive and extremely functional. Well equipped with oven and hob, larder fridge/freezer, microwave oven and additional facilities such as low and standard height worktops, adjustable sinks etc. The whole of Swallow Barn is centrally heated and electricity is included in the price. For added safety, smoke and fire detection equipment, and a Help Call has been installed. Double-Gate Farmhouse, Swallow Barn are all totally non-smoking except in the garden, where ash trays are provided. Each cottage has its own picnic table. The Sheppey Inn is only a 2 minute walk and is ideal for days when cooking loses its appeal. Meals are good and reasonably priced.

All residents at Double-Gate farm Holidays have access to our Games Room with a full size snooker table, table tennis, darts etc freely available. A pay phone is also situated here. A guest launderette is available for use by the car park entrance. Due to having pets of our own we are sorry that we cannot accept other people's animals/pets on the property, with the exception of guide/hearing dogs.

Bed and Breakfast is also available in Swallow Barn. Kitchen use is not then accessible and the same tariffs apply as the farm house. You are welcome to enquire as this does mean that we can accommodate large parties if required.

Somerset is a county full of surprises.... an abundance of caves, gorges, waterways, wildlife, traditional crafts, beautiful gardens and memories of time past, its all here waiting for you.
